Jimmy Reed: Lost In The Shuffle

The ultra-relaxed, slack-jawed bluesman, who played harmonica on a rack while accompanying himself on guitar, represented a more laidback approach to the blues than his Chicago contemporaries like Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf and Little Walter. This compilation contains 17 of Reed’s seminal performances for Vee-Jay, including “Baby What You Want Me To Do,” “Big Boss Man,” “Bright Lights, Big City,” “I Ain’t Got You,” “Honest I Do” (covered by the Rolling Stones) and “Ain’t That Lovin’ You Baby” (a tune later revived by the Yardbirds and the Blues Brothers).
