Jeff Golub Hugs People to Celebrate New CD

Whenever a big project is completed, be it sending out a bulk mailing or financing a new business or recording a CD, people often want to reach out and touch people as a final way to say, “We’re done!” Guitarist Jeff Golub (far left) is seen hugging the men who helped make his new CD, Do It Again (GRP), possible. They include, from left to right: Golub, engineer Steve Sykes, saxophonist Gerald Albright and trumpeter/producer Rick Braun.

The four were photographed at Los Angeles’ Brauntosaurus Studios, which is not the home of Fred Flintstone’s recording palace, but rather that of Golub’s good buddy and frequent collaborator Braun. Do It Again, which comes out March 26, will feature Golub’s interpretations of soul classics like “Cruisin'” (Smokey Robinson’s 1979 hit) and “Mercy Mercy Me” (Marvin Gaye’s classic from his 1971 album What’s Goin’ On?).
