The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation has already enlisted the aid of such diverse celebrities as Beyonce Knowles, Martina Hingis, Peter Max and Kirsten Dunst. Now, DJ Art Good enters the fray, with a compilation disc of performances from the Catalina Island JazzTrax Festival released on the NaradaJazz label. NaradaJazz will donate a portion of the proceeds from the compilation, entitled Catalina Island Nights, to the Glaser Foundation.
The JazzTrax festival, which grew out of Good’s radio program, has become a mecca for smooth jazz enthusiasts. The compilation features such artists as Spyro Gyra, Acoustic Alchemy and Keiko Matsui, all of whom have become fixtures of the festival.
The Glaser Foundation identifies, funds and conducts pediatric research in HIV/AIDS and other illnesses, and has been cited as one of the best-managed charities of its kind in the nation, channeling almost all of its donations to good works.
