Jazz On the Waters

I love it when we’re cruisin’ together. I’m talking me and Dee Dee Bridgewater, not me and Gwyneth Paltrow. Hey, it’s the middle of February – can you blame us for plugging a cruise in the Caribbean? So, bust a bottle of champagne on my bow. Anita Berry of Traveline is launching a new jazz cruise on the Holland America line from October 28 until November 4, 2001. And unlike many jazz cruises where the jazz festival is set down in the middle of a regular Love Boat cruise, her Jazz Cruise takes over the entire vessel. The ports of call in the Caribbean include St. John, St. Thomas, St. Kitts and Half Moon Bay in the Bahamas. And the entertainment includes the aforementioned Miss Bridgewater, the Clayton Brothers, Frank Foster & the Loud Minority Band, Henry Johnson, Danny Mixon, Houston Person & Etta Jones, Harry Allen, Eddie Higgins, Ken Peplowski, Rufus Reid, Keter “Don’t Forget Your Clubs” Betts and many more. Only a few cabins remain, so call now or hold your peace until next year. Their phone number is 800-762-6737 or on the Web at www.travelineltd.com.
