After Keith Jarrett, Gary Peacock and Jack DeJohnette concluded their sold-out performance Wednesday at Carnegie Hall as part of JVC Festival New York, Jarrett made a rather surprising announcement: for the first time in nearly 10 years, he will play a solo concert in North America.
Furthermore, Jarrett will be performing at Carnegie Hall, which will be his first solo performance at the venue in 30 years. The concert will take place on Sept. 26 and tickets go on sale tomorrow through Carnegie Hall, either by calling 212-247-7800 or going to www.carnegiehall.org. Tickets will go on sale at noon EST.
Jarrett’s most recent album, Radiance, is a live solo recording of a 2002 performance in Osaka, Japan with four excerpts from a second concert performed in Tokyo later that month. He will also release a DVD of the entire Tokyo concert on Sept. 27 on ECM, which will be the label’s first DVD release.
