JALC Offers Adult and Children Education Classes

Jazz at Lincoln Center will continue offering their jazz education classes in the new year, with courses and dates for Jazz 101 and WeBop! already set.

Jazz 101, designed for adult students, will commence Jan. 18 and run every Wednesday through March 8. Author, historian and professor Reid Badger will teach the first class, “Jazz Pre-History 1880-1920” while Loren Shoenberg, executive director of the Harlem Jazz Museum and a Grammy-award wining writer, will teach the second class, “Soul of Steeltown.” The cost is $240 for the eight-week session.

WeBop!, designed for children ages 2-5, has three terms available, which take place on Tuesdays and Saturdays. All the terms focus on movement and dancing to jazz music, and sessions are taught by Lori Custodero of the Teachers College at Columbia University. The cost is also $240 for an eight-week session.

More information and registration is available online at www.jalc.org.
