Indianapolis Will Host Piano Competition

The American Pianists Association will host its fifth American Jazz Piano Competition in Indianapolis in April. The biannual event will offer a cash prize and career assistance to the person named Jazz Fellow of the American Pianists Association. Six semi-finalists will be chosen to perform in the two semi-final rounds on April 20. Three finalists will then compete the next night for the crown. Terry Teachout, Eric Reed, and Wlodek Pawlik are among the judges for the event. In 1998, the APA named Eric Green its first fellow; he has performed at the “Jazz at the Y” series in New York and the Millennium Dome in Greenwich, England.
