Horace Silver Signs to Bop City

Pianist and hard-bop grandpop Horace Silver (pictured) has signed to the DH1 Studios-owned Bop City Records imprint. Silver’s last label association was with Verve Music Group’s GRP label, for which he cut two albums in the 1990s. We have no release date for Silver’s debut on the new label, but we do know the album will be titled Rockin’ With Rachmaninoff. We’ll assume that means it’s a tribute to Russian classical composer Sergei Rachmaninoff.
