Gibson Funds NFAA Scholarships

The National Foundation for the Advancement in the Arts (NFAA) has been supplying scholarships to talented young musicians since 1981, aiding approximately 9,000 youngsters with gifts totaling nearly $5 million. With the generous support of the Gibson Foundation, which recently signed on as a sponsor to the tune of $120,000 annually, the NFAA’s good works are in ensured to continue.

The NFAA’s scholarship-giving initiative is dubbed the Arts Recognition and Talent Search program, or ARTS for short. There are separate programs within ARTS, one of which is devoted to jazz. Students of our favorite music genre can apply for an ARTS scholarship (which range from $100 to $10,000) by following instructions at www.nfaa.org.

The Gibson Foundation is of course an organization within the huge musical instrument company that is Gibson Guitar Corp. and Baldwin Piano. And all of the money it’s donating to the cause will go to ARTS’ music-related disciplines.
