Gerald Veasley’s Summer Bass Boot Camp

When you’ve got the goods, word travels far and fast and people just can’t get enough. Gerald Veasley (pictured), it so happens, is the man who’s got “it”-that elusive je ne sais quois that keeps people coming back for more. Veasley’s March edition of Bass Boot Camp was so successful he’s scheduled another session for Aug. 23-25, at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Returning personnel are Michael Manring, Doug Wimbish and Victor Bailey.

Like the March Boot Camp, the summer session is for all bassists regardless of skill and will feature clinics like “Monster Slap Workshop” “Playing the Killer Solo” and the “Ultimate Groove Workshop”. And if you can’t read music, don’t sweat it. Watching Veasley and company’s fingers flying across the fret boards will keep your eyes busy enough.

Tuition and lodging is $500; the cost is $350 without lodging. Register before June 15th and get a $25 rebate. Mail checks or money orders to Flying Vee Music, PO Box 12599, Philadelphia, PA 19151. For credit card payment or for more information visit www.geraldveasley.com.
