Eight-time Grammy winning guitarist George Benson (pictured left) has announced a short spring tour to play tunes from his latest GRP album, Absolute Benson. The tour is a U.S.-only string of shows sandwiched between Benson’s European festival dates. Benson will appear at east coast venues for most of the tour, but the tour kickoff will be held at City Hall Plaza in Dallas, Texas.
Absolute Benson was released last year and features nine tracks including cover versions of Stevie Wonder’s “Lately,” Ray Charles’ “Come Back Baby,” and Donny Hathaway’s “The Ghetto.” Fans of old Benson material shouldn’t worry, the guitarist will still play the tried and true hits on tour.
