FPI Employee Lois Kuhlmann Dies

Lois Kuhlmann, a Festival Productions Inc. (FPI) employee for nearly 23 years, died on Feb. 2 after suffering a cerebral aneurysm. Kuhlmann celebrated her 65th birthday on Jan.16.

During her time at FPI, Kuhlmann worked as an assistant to founder George Wein, coordinated many tours to summer festivals in Europe and managed the Carnegie Hall Jazz Band. Most recently, Kuhlmann worked on the Newport Jazz Festival’s 50th Anniversary Tour, as well as the “Over the Rainbow” tour.

Kuhlmann is survived by her sister Sophie Wiss, sister Josephine Spector, brother Dietrick Kuhlmann and many nieces and nephews.
