Fourplay Announce Tour

In support of its ninth studio album, Journey, smooth supergroup Fourplay will hit the road this Saturday to begin a 25-city national tour. The tour starts with a gig at the Thornton Winery in Temecula, Calif. and the band will work eastward to wrap it all up on Nov. 21 in Palmerton, Penn.

Fourplay, comprised of keyboardist Bob James, bassist/vocalist Nathan East, guitarist Larry Carlton and drummer Harvey Mason, recorded its new album at Firehouse Recording Studios in Pasadena, Calif. Longtime Fourplay producer Don Murray was in tow and the band went into the studio with mostly just simple sketches of the tunes’ original melodies. Journey includes nine Fourplay originals and a cover of Sting’s “Fields of Gold.” Nathan East lends his vocals to “Play Around It” and the title track “Journey,” which also features Bikki Johnson on background vocals and shaker.
