Django Reinhardt Festival Set for November, Will Feature Django’s Grandson, David Reinhardt

For all those with a jones for Gypsy jazz, the eighth-annual Django Reinhardt festival will hit Midtown Manhattan’s Birdland club from Nov. 6-11.

The festival in honor of the talented Gypsy will see appearances by Django’s grandson, David Reinhardt (pictured), in his Stateside debut; fellow Gypsies guitarist Dorado and Samson Schmitt; and Grappelli-style violinist Florin Niculescu. A variety of other special guests will also be in attendance, such as accordionist Ludovic Beier, Kruno and bassist Brian Torf.
