Diana Krall: Artist of the Year

Diana Krall had a good year, at least in the pleasantly shallow and uncomplicated world of show business. For all we know, she’s tired, miserable and cranky about the holidays like the rest of us. But we haven’t been voted Artist of the Year by JazzTimes readers and put on the cover of the magazine. And we haven’t been named by People Magazine as one of the 25 Most Intriguing People of 2001. And our latest record hasn’t been selling like hot cakes the way The Look of Love has been. And if that’s not enough success to make us all holly green with envy, her 1996 release All For You has just been certified Gold. Heck, we don’t even have a record deal. She also has a 35 city tour set up, including dates at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall and Los Angeles’ Universal Amphitheater, so it’s clear we move in different circles. Oh well, we still love her. It’s because she’s intriguing. For a complete list of tour dates and more inside information on the golden girl of jazz, visit
