Diana Krall and Elvis Costello Get Hitched

‘Allo, mates! It’s your friendly, neighborhood British tabloid reporter, here to give you the bloody good scoop on the marriage of the year! No, I don’t mean Gwyneth Paltrow and that goofy-looking chap from Coldplay! I’m talking about the legal bonding of the queen of jazz vocals, Diana Krall (pictured), with the man who has an album called King of America, Elvis Costello.

The happy couple o’ crooners were married in a private ceremony last weekend near ol’ London town. About 150 lads and lasses made the trek to Elton John’s sprawling mansion in Surrey, England. Among the honored guests were Sir Paul McCartney (Costello’s sometime songwriting partner) and Canada’s consul general to New York, Pamela Wallin (Krall is Canadian).

For Krall, 39, this is her first marriage. For Costello, 49, this is his third. The two met during the 2002 Grammys, when both looked awfully uncomfortable handing out awards during the ceremony. Costello’s latest CD is the jazzy ballad work North (which features several swoony songs that were obviously influence by his lovely lass). And Krall is preparing her new CD for an April 27, 2004, release.

We wish the lovebirds a merry, merry and hope they got arse-over-tit at the reception!
