Bassist Dave Holland and his new label imprint Dare2 Productions have partnered with Sunnyside Records for the U.S. releases of his future recordings. Universal Music Jazz France will distribute the recordings outside of the United States.
Independent jazz label Sunnyside Records has already released albums by two of Holland’s close associates: Chris Potter’s Lift: Live at the Village Vanguard and Steve Nelson’s Fuller Nelson, Holland’s saxophonist and vibraphonist, respectively, in his quintet and big band.
The first album to be released by Sunnyside/Dare2 will be a new big band recording by Holland’s band, a follow-up to their 2002 Grammy-award winning album What Goes Around. The album will be available in early 2005.
