The Dave Holland Big Band will bless five festivals this summer, bringing to life the music heard on Holland’s latest CD, a Grammy-winning, Mingus-like album called What Goes Around. The festival dates will be the end of a tour that begins later this month as a string of quintet gigs featuring the core members of the big band: vibraphonist Steve Nelson, saxophonist Chris Potter, trombonist Robin Eubanks and drummer Billy Kilson.
