Dave Douglas Presents Music-and-Dance at Lincoln Center

Trumpeter Dave Douglas (pictured left) will showcase his music-and-dance collaboration with choreographer Trisha Brown on July 18-21 at the Lincoln Center Festival in New York City. Titled El Trilogy, the complete three-part work had its world premiere at the American Dance Festival in Durham, N.C. last summer. El Trilogy will be performed by the Dave Douglas Ensemble and will be the only jazz performance at this year’s festival. The Dave Douglas ensemble is a sextet featuring violinist Mark Feldman, accordian player Guy Klucevsek, saxophonist/clarinetist Greg Tardy, bassist Greg Cohen, and percussionist Susie Ibarra. Brown was a founding member of the famed Judson Dance Theater in the 1960s and has collaborated on numerous projects with visual artists and contemporary composers.
