Cyrus Chestnut Signs to Telarc, to Release New Album

Pianist Cyrus Chestnut has recently signed to Telarc and plans to release his debut album for the label in February 2006. Titled Genuine Chestnut, the album is produced by Elaine Martone (McCoy Tyner, Tierney Sutton, Ray Brown) and features a mix of both Chestnut originals and a few covers.

Prior to signing with Telarc, Chestnut did a stint with Atlantic, releasing seven solo albums under the label, as well as one album on Warner Bros. Genuine Chestnut will be the Berklee-educated Chestnut’s 13th full-length solo album. Chestnut also performed on Brown Brother’s Pavement-inspired Gold Sounds album, along with Reginald Veal and Ali Jackson.
