One secret ingredient: Dope beats, dope beats and more dope beats. Coldcut’s More Beats and Pieces (Zan CDS58 31:14) is a soup to nuts assortment of rhythms and textures, from Coldcut’s room-shaking “Daddy Rips it Up” mix to DJ Q-Bert’s twitchingly schizoid mix of “I Miss You Blobula.”
