Cincotti’s Second CD Due in Sept.

Concord Records will release pianist/ singer Peter Cincotti’s sophomore album, On the Moon, on September 14, 2004. The album reunites Cincotti, 21, with Grammy-winning producer Phil Ramone. On the Moon puts a modern spin on classics like “I Love Paris,” “St. Louis Blues” and “Some Kind of Wonderful” with new arrangements by Cincotti himself, and features original compositions as well.

Ramone praised Cincotti’s skill on On the Moon.

[Peter] performs other writers’ material while expanding his quartet to include orchestration, seeing and hearing the music from all perspectives,” Ramone said. “It is clear that quality music and lyrics lead the way. Peter’s curiosity and desire to spread his musical wings are unstoppable. It’s great to be a part of his career.”

Cincotti’s self-titled debut album hit the top of the Billboard charts and was well received by critics and fans alike. He has studied music privately with Ellis Marsalis and at the Manhattan School of Music, and began playing professionally at the age of 12. In February 2002, at a tender age of 18, he became the youngest performer to headline at the prestigious Oak Room of the Algonquin Hotel in New York.

Cincotti has a cameo role in the upcoming film Spiderman 2 and a featured role in Kevin Spacey’s Bobby Darin biopic Beyond the Sea, which also stars Brenda Blethyn, John Goodman and Bob Hoskins.
