Chris Botti preps new CD

Trumpeter Chris Botti spent just enough time away from main squeeze Katie Couric to cut To Love Again, the follow-up to 2004’s smash When I Fall In Love. (Dig those album titles. Note to Katie: You got your man wrapped around your finger, girl!)

Released on October 18, To Love Again features 13 tunes, including the single “Embraceable You,” the title track and “What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?” Botti stacked the deck with popular singers, too, including Michael Bublé, Paul Buchanan, Paula Cole, Gladys Knight, Renee Olstead, Rosa Passos, Jill Scott, Sting and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler. (From “Seasons of Wither” to contemporary jazz-nice job, Steve. Now please turn in your rock ‘n’ roll scarves.)

Like many discs these days, To Love Again comes in both regular CD and DualDisc editions. The CD audio side of the DualDisc includes the album in stereo; the DVD side features:

• The entire album in enhanced LPCM stereo.

• A video of special guest David Sanborn, Botti and his quartet playing “Flamenco Sketches.”

• Five live tunes by Botti and his quartet at Capitol Studios, including four instrumental versions of songs from the album, incluiding “Embraceable You,” “What’s New?,” “To Love Again” and “I’ll Be Seeing You.”

• Backstage interviews and behind-the-scenes footage on the making of To Love Again.
