Children’s Hospital’s Jazzmatazz

Washington, D.C.’s Children’s Hospital is known for putting the child first, and then worrying about the cost of it later. A lot of families can’t afford the ever-rising prices of hospital care, but that’s irrelevant-the goal is to keep children healthy.

This year, the Children’s National Medical center will hold their fourth annual Jazzmatazz to raise money. The black tie event will be held on May 3 at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C. This year’s chairman is guitarist Jeff “Skunk” Baxter (pictured left), noted for fame with bands the Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan.

The evening’s lineup includes renowned guitarist B.B. King, saxophonist Gerald Albright, vocalist Mary Ann Redmond, vocalist-guitarist Jonathan Butler, the David Bach Consort, Larry Harlow’s Latin Legends and Dr. Pearl’s Children’s Hospital Jazz Band.

The Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center is located at 1300 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Washington, D.C. Tickets are $125, which includes the show, a light buffet, martini lounge and open bar. Doors open at 8 pm. More information is available at www.dcchildrens.com.
