Chicago Bob and the Shadows: Just Your Fool

Previously issued in 1987 on vinyl only, Just Your Fool by Chicago Bob And The Shadows has been reissued on CD by HMG/HighTone. A vocalist of modest gifts but real-deal intent, the Louisiana-born Robert Lee Nelson (a.k.a. Chicago Bob) is also an accomplished harmonica player who draws heavy inspiration from both Sonny Boy Williamsons, Lazy Lester and Slim Harpo. He also reveals a fine songwriting talent on originals like “Call My Landlady” and “Your Time To Choose.” After spending the ’60s in Chicago, where he met and played with the likes of Muddy Waters, Earl Hooker, J.B. Hutto and Buddy Guy, Chicago Bob relocated to Boston and ultimately Atlanta, where he recorded Just Your Fool. This genuine offering of no-frills Chicago style blues will definitely appeal to purists.
