Charlie Hunter Gets Busy

Fresh off the release of his Ropeadope debut, Right Now Move (with his quintet) and the Tone Cool disc Emphasizer by Garage à Trois (with Stanton Moore, Skerik and Mike Dillon), Charlie Hunter is about to drop a live DVD and a new duet disc with drummer Bobby Previte. Plus, the 8-string ax-slinger, and JazzTimes‘ August issue cover boy, will hit the road to support all that product.

The Right Now Live DVD is set to be released on October 31. The gig was shot at a private party in Philadelphia in December 2002, and the DVD will feature Hunter’s Quintet as well as a solo performance.
