Councilmember Yvette D. Clarke presented a New York City Council Proclamation to vocalist Cassandra Wilson on February 11. Wilson is one of the 40th Council District’s Black History Month music honoree, and was presented with the Proclamation at a performance at the Blue Note club.

“In celebrating the rich heritage of our community during Black History Month, it is only appropriate to honor Cassandra Wilson,” stated Councilmember Clarke. “It gives me great pleasure to present this proclamation to Cassandra Wilson, the 40th Council District’s Black History Month music honoree.”
