Cape May, N.J., will get the summer off to an early start when it welcomes James Moody (pictured left), Pieces of a Dream, Hugh Masekela, and others for the 15th Cape May Jazz Festival, April 20-22.
The biannual festival will kick off on a Friday with performances by South African trumpeter Masekela, saxophonist Alfonzo Blackwell, vocalist Judy Bady, and guitarist Larry Coryell. On Saturday, performers around town include Pieces of a Dream, Moody, guitarist Mark Elf, alto saxophonist Julian Pressly, and
pianist Joey DeFrancesco, performing with his father John. There will also be a jazz workshop and youth band concerts on Saturday.
