The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music announces its 2002-2003 Jazz at the Conservatory Series, starting in Oct. 5 with a performance by trumpeter Tom Harrell (pictured). Sponsored by BNP Paribas and now in its eighth season, the Jazz at the Conservatory series was created to “offer outstanding jazz concerts to the Brooklyn community and enhance the Conservatory’s own Jazz Division,” says Jennifer Newell, Executive director of the Conservatory. “The series offers the community an opportunity to hear legendary musicians at affordable prices.” Concerts take place at 8 p.m. in the Conservatory’s Concert Hall, 58 Seventh Avenue, Brooklyn. Tickets are $20, $15 for students and seniors, and are available two weeks in advance by phone at 718-622-3300.
