Brian Lynch Offers Online Trumpet Lessons

With online college degrees and online dating already well-established in society, it’s only natural that online trumpet lessons should come next. Performer and teacher Brian Lynch recently announced the launch of such lessons as part of his new recording project, featuring Eddie Palmieri and in collaboration with the website ArtistShare.

The online lessons are organized so that participants can download an audio lecture, practice exercises and streaming audio demonstrations of Lynch’s personal practice sessions. The course is comprised of three lessons, covering trumpet basics, practice techniques and improvisational concepts. Lynch will also provide personal feedback to his online students

Lynch’s new project, The Brian Lynch/Eddie Palmieri Project 2005, showcases the trumpeter with his mentor in a CD of new music by Lynch, as well as some collaborative works composed by both Lynch and Palmieri. The interactive project will utilize the ArtistShare system to allow fans to stream and download audio and video from the recording sessions, as well as compositional sketches ad finished music.

Teaching trumpet isn’t much of a stretch for Lynch, who is currently on the faculty at New York University and at the North Netherlands Conservatory, and has taught at the Stanford Jazz Workshop and conducted others around the country.
