Blue Note Signs Norah Jones

Norah Jones (pictured left), a 22-year-old vocalist, recently signed with Blue Note Records. She is currently working on her debut album, which is due out in early 2002. In the meantime, her vocals are featured on Charlie Hunter’s Songs From the Analog Playground, available Sept. 25.

While attending high school at Booker T. Washington School for Performing and Visual Arts, Jones received Down Beat‘s Student Music Award three times. Later, she attended the University of North Texas where she studied jazz piano for two years before moving to New York City.
