From April 17 to 21, the legendary Birdland jazz club in New York City will host the BOSSABRASIL Festival. Here’s the run-down:
April 17-18: Following his Lifetime Achievement Award from the Latin Grammys, pianist and composer Cesar Camargo Mariano will perform with Romero Lubambo and special guest vocalist Lenny Andrade. Also, Paquito D’Rivera (pictured) will make a special appearance.
April 19-21: One of Brazil’s most celebrated composers, Dori Caymmi, will appear with top Brazilian vocalist Joyce. The backing band will be composed of jazz pianist Kenny Werner (Toots Thielemans, John Scofield), drummer Tutty Moreno and bassist Rodolfo Stroeter.
