The second season of BET Jazz’s acclaimed television series Journey With Jazz at Lincoln Center will premiere on September 25, at 9 p.m. The 13 episode series will feature, among others, live performances from the renowned Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, headed by the center’s artistic director of jazz, Wynton Marsalis (pictured).
The weekly one-hour show, filmed on location in New York City and other national and international venues from London, England to Honolulu, Hawaii, will spotlight tour performances and include candid interviews with the featured artist.
Marsalis and company won’t be the only stars of the show. Drummers Louis Hayes and Terri Lyne Carrington, Ghanaian drum master Yacub Addy and trombonist Wycliffe Gordon will each have episodes dedicated to their respective performances and also provide insight into the inner workings of jazz.
