The Bert Seager Trio has created light and airy music on this recording, but by no means is it lightweight- these guys play forcefully with some tasty dissonant touches. Seager’s stated preference for equality in the group dynamic is underscored by the lively interplay between his piano, Dan Greenspan’s bass and Dan Rieser’s drums. This sharing of musical ideas keeps the improvisational level high in each piece as evidenced in Seager’s “Snapshot,” which shows off Greenspan’s agility. And listen to the way they bring up little snippets of the melody while traveling through “I Remember You.”
