Berklee College of Music is hosting a weekend dedicated to the future. On Saturday, February 24, the school is hosting 175 young groups from the northeast who will travel to Boston for its 33rd annual high school jazz festival. Big bands, combos and vocal jazz groups will compete for trophies, citation plaques, and tuition scholarships totaling $100,000 at the festival. Performances run from 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. and are free and open to the public. On Sunday, the college hosts its Music Career Expo and Job Fair 2001 at the Hynes Convention Center. Music business attorney Donald S. Passman will give the keynote address.
