Benefit for journalist Tom Terrell tonight at Canal Room, NYC

“An Esoteric Night,” a benefit concert for music journalist and photographer Tom Terrell, will be held tonight at the Canal Room in NYC. Mr. Terrell, a former JazzTimes contributor, worked as a publicist at Verve Music Group and his articles and photos have appeared in Vibe, Jazziz, Essence and The Vibe History of Hip Hop book.

Mr. Terrell was recently diagnosed with cancer and needs help with his medical bills. Many of Mr. Terrell’s music-industry friends and colleagues have signed up to perform at the benefit, including Vernon Reid, Meshell Ndegeocello (pictured), Greg Osby, Liberty Ellman, Randy Weston’s African Rhythms and Eric Hilton of Thievery Corporation.
