A handful of jazz stars will appear at the Village Vanguard in May, playing music from their latest albums. Vocalist Jane Monheit (pictured left) will be at the club May 1-6, backed by a quartet featuring Christian McBride and Carl Allen. Monheit will perform selections from her May 22 release, Come Dream With Me (N-Coded Music). The Terence Blanchard Quintet rolls in on May 15 for a six-night run, playing music from Let’s Get Lost, (Sony Classical) due out May 15. On May 22, Mark Turner sets up for the week to play cuts from Dharma Days, (Warner Bros.) which will have been in stores for two weeks. Joe Lovano stops by from May 29-June 3 to perform music from Flights of Fancy: Trio Fascination Edition Two (Blue Note), which came out in March.
