802 Teaches Jazz Economics

A little heads-up for the long-term minded musician:

This Monday the Musicians Local 802 in New York City will have an open house for jazz artists in order to extol the virtues of securing union benefits. We’re talking about how a jazz artist can secure a pension and union-card-carrying players Ahmad Jamal and Bob Cranshaw will be on hand to tell you all about it. It’s an afternoon event: 4-6 p.m. in the 802’s Club Room at 322 West 48th St. Refreshments will be provided. For more info, contact Natasha Jackson at (212) 245-4802 ext. 185
