20th Annual Time Flies Improvised Music Festival Coming to Vancouver

Vancouver’s 20th annual Time Flies Improvised Music Festival is set to take place from February 7-9 at 8 PM at the Ironworks, 235 Alexander Street. The festival is presented by Vancouver’s Coastal Jazz & Blues Society in partnership with the Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad.

Curated by CJBS artistic director Ken Pickering and bassist Torsten Müller (pictured), this three night-session serves as a summit meeting for some of the most creative improvisers from Canada and around the world.

This year’s lineup includes saxophonist Evan Parker (UK), French Horn/electronics player Hild Sofie Tafjord (Norway), guitarist Bernard Falaise (Montreal), trumpeter Peter Evans (New York City), violinist Mary Oliver (Netherlands), drummer Dylan van der Schyff (Vancouver), clarinetist François Houle (Vancouver) and bassist Müller (Vancouver).
