Louis Armstrong House Museum Announces 2nd Annual Gala

Museum will honor Jimmy Heath, Stanley Crouch, George Wein

The Louis Armstrong House Museum has announced its second annual gala, which will be held Dec. 4 at the Manhattan Penthouse, 80 Fifth Avenue in New York City. The gala will honor author Stanley Crouch, who is the president of the Louis Armstrong Educational Foundation; saxophonist/composer/arranger Jimmy Heath; and George Wein, chairman of the Newport Festivals Foundation. A dinner and the awards ceremony will take place at 7:15 p.m. and will feature a performance by David Ostwald’s Louis Armstrong Centennial Band.
