Jazz Club at Sea to Feature Benny Golson Tribute

Artists on Northwest cruise will include Don Braden Quartet, Kenny Barron Trio, others

The annual Jazz Club at Sea, which has booked jazz cruises for 30 years, will take place on the Crystal Cruise Line from April 29-May 6. This spring’s program includes a tribute to Benny Golson performed by the Don Braden Quartet with organist Kyle Koehler, vocalist Vanessa Rubin and drummer Cecil Brooks III; the Kenny Barron Trio with Johnathan Blake on drums and Kiyoshi Kitagawa on bass, as well as guitarist Henry Johnson. Golson will also be on board.

The cruise begins in Vancouver, B.C., then sails to Victoria, B.C., Seattle, Astoria, Ore., San Francisco and Santa Barbara, before ending in Los Angeles.

The cruise will also offer participants complimentary language lessons by Berlitz, piano instruction with Yamaha, educational opportunities, a lecture series and recently released movies. Fares begin at $2,305.00 based on double occupancy.
