The cruise takes place aboard the Holland America M/S Westerdam, and the ports of call are Nassau, Bahamas, St. Thomas, St. Barths and the private island of Half Moon Cay. The event’s musical hosts are David Sanborn and Marcus Miller, while Jonathan Butler and Gerald Albright will serve as special event hosts. Comedian Alonzo Bodden will also join the group of performers.

Musicians scheduled to perform onboard the cruise include Boney James, Rick Braun, Candy Dulfer, Eric Darius, Jeff Golub, Rahsaan Patterson, Patrice Rushen, Brian Simpson, Peter White and DW3 and the official party band of The Smooth Jazz Cruise.

The Smooth Jazz Cruise sailed its maiden voyage in 2004 and the upcoming 2011 cruise marks the first time the event has offered two sailings. In addition to nightly entertainment in both large showrooms and intimate lounges, cruisers can also look forward to cocktail parties hosted by the musicians, autograph signings, question and answer sessions, contests and morning exercise classes.

The Smooth Jazz Cruise attracts many repeat cruisers, and reservations often sell out well in advance. A special rate will be offered for 2012 cruisers who have sailed with the program four or more times.
