In her liner notes Cynthia Crane proclaims her love for arranger-pianist Mike Renzi, bassist Jay Leonhart and drummer Grady Tate. What's not to love with these guys, topnotch as they are. They do their thing here with Crane, providing a solid jazz backdrop for this saloon/cabaret singer with a voice this side of throbbing. Crane gives herself over to this odd selection of tunes and adds spice with soloists Bill Easley, Jay Berliner, Warren Chiasson and Virgil Jones.
