Robert “Bootsie” Barnes: You Leave Me Breathless

Robert “Bootsie” Barnes plays tenor saxophone with self-assured flair and gorgeous depth, swinging easily on great love-songs like “Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most,” “A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square,” “Sweet and Lovely” and “Violets for Her Furs.” Barnes has worked with organists Jack McDuff, Jimmy McGriff, Jimmy Smith, Shirley Scott and “Papa John” DeFrancesco. His colleagues are pianist Brian Trainor, bassist Tyrone Brown and drummer Craig McIver.
