| Jazzbands | Jazz Ensemble - The jazz ensemble performs concerts throughout the year. Repertoire is a combination of old and new music, teaching students how to perform in a variety of styles. Membership is determined through auditions that are held immediately before the semester begins.. Jazz Combo - The jazz combo is a select group of five to eight of the most experienced improvisers in the jazz program. The combo performs on-campus five or six times each year and is occasionally invited to off-campus performances as well. Students learn to apply their skills as improvisers and experience the chamber music quality of jazz. Wind players in the group also play in the jazz ensemble. Membership in this group is determined through auditions. |

| Notes | Feb. 1 is the priority application date. Applicants who apply before February 1 will hear of their status by the end of March; later applicants will be notified on a rolling basis. We are currently accepting applications for the 2010-11 school year. No student or family should be discouraged from applying to Interlochen Arts Academy because of lack of funds. We welcome a broad cross section of families who believe in their children and in their ability to succeed. We offer financial aid in the following categories: The financial need of the family The artistic and academic ability of the student Approximately 70% of the Academy student body receives financial aid. |
