Audrey Silver CD Release of Very Early, her 3rd CD

Jan 26, 2017 08:00 PM - 11:30 PM

Audrey Silver, Jazz Singer & Songwriter, will be releasing her 3rd album, Very Early. Sets will be at 8:00pm and 10:30pm.

The CD features a mix of standards, originals, and contemporary pieces. As of this posting, it has been on the RMR's top 50 jazz albums for the past 7 weeks and is now at #11, peaking at #10 two weeks ago. Audrey will perform songs from the album and will debut some new original works.

Regarding the contemporary pieces, Audrey covers:
-- Sting's Until,
-- Israeli singer and songwriter Keren Ann's Jardin D'Hiver a beautiful song written and sung in French, and
-- Irish singer and songwriter Declan O'Rourke's Galileo. Of possible interest, Paul Weller, founder of rock group The Jam, said on the BBC show, Desert Islands Discs http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b008gh41, that Galileo is among the songs he most wishes he had written.

Audrey has been performing in the area for about 15 years at venues including previously at Jazz at Kitano, 55 Bar, the Cornelia Street Café, the Tanglewood Jazz Festival, and the JVC Jazz Festival.

As well, her music has aired on numerous jazz radio shows including internationally syndicated radio-show, Jazz After Hours, and Jonathan Schwartz's show on WNYC and Sirius Radio. She also loves doing pro bono work and performs in a number of institutional settings including senior centers and homeless shelters.

Audrey will be performing with:
Jon Cowherd-- piano
Paul Beaudry-- bass
Gene Lewin-- drums
Jean Caze-- trumpet

Audrey’s love for jazz was kindled in high school and has only grown with time. When she performs, she hopes her audience will experience the same beauty, fascination, and joy in the music that she does

According to Christopher Loudon, JazzTimes.com, Audrey’s “…voice is like pure sterling. Her phrasing is exquisite, her clarity and enunciation on par with the great Jo Stafford and her breath control—a talent so often, and so wrongfully, overlooked—rivals Sinatra’s…”

Praise for Very Early:

"There's immediate comfort in encountering Audrey Silver's music for the first time. Her voice is an open invitation, an instrument of confession and creation that immediately transports you to someplace else. That's evident from her first utterances through her last words on Very Early.”
Dan Bilawsky, All About Jazz

“….Silver engrosses with her tales….[a] talent worthy of being picked up by a major label.”
Robert Rusch, Cadence Jazz Magazine

"Very Early, singer Audrey Silver’s third release is a pure delight. The combination of Silver’s warm and crystal clear vocals, an excellent song selection and fantastic musicianship makes this an outstanding recording.”
Glenn Daniels, The Jazz Page

"There are so many outstanding performances on this album; it’s hard to truly choose which one is the standout. I suggest you pick up a copy for yourself, and truly experience why Audrey Silver is the preeminent jazz vocalist of this era. She’s got the goods, and she knows how to deliver!"
Constance Tucker, All About Vocals

“….Perfect technique, including scat vocals, a soft velvet voice, a varied repertoire - all works to the success of Very Early…"
Leonid Auskren, Jazzquad (Russia)

“…mesmerizing, hypnotic, utterly delightful…”
