Litchfield Jazz Festival

Aug 08 - Aug 10, 2014

“The Litchfield” is not just a festival—it’s a jazz family. The focus is quality and fun across the boards. Listen, learn and love jazz at the Festival’s 19th anniversary under the tent or on the lawn at the Goshen Fairground in Goshen, CT, August 8-10. Enjoy the Opening Night Friends Gala, three days of music on two stages, fine art and handmade crafts, fantastic food, wine and beer, artist talks, student performances, plus family activities, all with views and sunsets over the rolling Litchfield Hills. The line-up features The Gospel According to Jazz with Kirk Whalum, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Cyrus Chestnut, Brussels Jazz Orchestra, Anthony Strong, Jimmy Greene, Mike Stern, Jane Bunnett, Mario Pavone, the LJF Orchestra Django Reinhardt Project and more. For five weeks leading up to the Jazz Festival is Litchfield Jazz Camp (July 6-August 8) now on the campus of Canterbury School, New Milford, CT. A non-competitive total jazz immersion for students ages 12 through adult led by Music Director Don Braden and taught by award-winning touring and recording jazz musicians. Students even perform on a second stage Jazz Fest weekend. For more information visit, find us, or call 860-361-6285.
