DC Jazz Festival

One of the largest music festivals in the country, the 2013 DC Jazz Festival (DCJF) kicks off summer in the nation's capital June 5 - 16. With more than 125 dazzling performances in nearly 60 venues across the city, this year’s Festival will feature world-renowned artists including Grammy Award-winning composer Paquito D’Rivera, the Arturo O’Farrill Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra (ALJO) and more.
The national event draws jazz lovers of all ages from around the world to some of the most prestigious venues in the country, including The John. F. Kennedy Center and the Hamilton Live.
Paquito D’Rivera, DCJF Co-Artistic Director at the Kennedy Center, will present Jazz Meets the Latin Classics, while ALJO will present From Bagels to Bongos with special guests Steven Bernstein and Anat Cohen.
Jazz at the Hamilton Live will feature Roy Haynes, Cyrus Chestnut, Stefon Harris, Ron Carter, Poncho Sanchez, Terri Lyne Carrington, The Brass-A-Holics, The Brubeck Brothers, Nicholas Payton, and Roy Hargrove.
Jazz in the 'Hoods will offer more than 80 performances with Lionel Loueke, Lonnie Liston Smith, Lee Konitz, George Cleaver, Tim Greene, Marc Cary, Alex Brown and Yotam, Pharoah Sanders, Peter Brötzmann & Joe McPheethe, Susana Baca, John McLaughlin, Hilary Kole, Brian Settles, ERIMAJ, Bohemian Caverns Jazz Orchestra and any more.
