Germany / Hamburg, 4th of February 2013 – ELBJAZZ is very proud to announce Jamie Cullum as one of the headliners for this year’s International Jazz Festival. The two-day event takes place in different locations spread around the scenic harbour of Hamburg, Germany, on May 24th and 25th.
Jamie Cullum – born in Essex / UK in 1979, a charismatic jazz musician with the ability and versatility to blur musical genre with his unique take on jazz, pop and rock. With a Grammy, two Golden Globe, two BRIT and numerous other award nominations under his belt, Cullum is a success story around the globe and the most successful UK jazz artist ever. The singer-songwriter's albums 'Pointless Nostalgic', 'Twentysomething', 'Catching Tales' and 'The Pursuit' have sold over five million worldwide. Presently Jamie is putting the finishing touches to his sixth album which will be released in late spring 2013.
After three successful years the ELBJAZZ Festival is coming up again. On the last weekend in May 2013, the famous port of Hamburg will again turn into a major stage for jazz music: More than 50 concerts, extraordinary venues on ships, at the imposing Blohm+Voss dockyards, at small clubs and bars, a supporting program and the harbour scenery contribute to the unique character of the ELBJAZZ Festival. The audience can take a barge shuttle to get from one venue to the next – a boat trip is included in the ELBJAZZ experience.
The program shows jazz in all its variety – international artists, newcomers and local heroes – and will similarly enthusiast jazz and music lovers, Hamburg citizens and visitors who have never been to a jazz festival before.
