Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band Competition and Jazz Festival

Members of the Essentially Ellington high school jazz program are selected to receive workshops in their schools led by a professional musicians before coming to New York City to perform in the competition. The competition culminates in a concert and awards ceremony at the Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall featuring the top-placing bands and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra.
